The Sanctum Bar pairs activated charcoal with a soft, uncolored top layer, giving the bar a striking two-tone build... a deep, near-black charcoal base beneath a raw cream crown, its surface pressed with a hand-textured, relief-like pattern.
At its center, the fragrance is rich black pepper, oud, and warm incense, lifted by brighter lavender and berry accents and settled on a base of patchouli, cedarwood, vanilla, and musk. It's smoky and resinous without tipping into heavy or one-note, with just enough brightness up top to keep it from reading as purely dark.
Activated charcoal has long been used to help draw impurities from the surface of the skin, and here it does double duty... both a functional ingredient and the bar's dramatic base tone. Titanium dioxide is used purely for its whitening, veining effect.
This is one of our more intensely scented bars, a favorite among those who want a soap that reads as much as a moment as it does a wash — think end-of-day ritual rather than quick rinse.
Cold-processed and cured for several weeks, hand-cut, and left with its full natural glycerin content, The Sanctum Bar lathers into a soft charcoal-grey foam.. the normal, expected behavior of activated charcoal in a true lather.
Each bar is 5 oz, handmade in small batches from the finest ingredients we can source... hand-poured, hand-cut, and individually wrapped for gift-giving straight off the shelf. Because every batch is made by hand, no two bars are ever quite identical; slight variation in color and veining is part of the craft, not a flaw.
