The Golden Obsidian

The Golden Obsidian is our signature swirl bar: one half colored with turmeric powder, the other with activated charcoal, hand-swirled together so no two bars ever come out with quite the same pattern of gold through black. It's scented with a three-oil blend of tea tree, lemongrass, and cedarwood, clean and green up front, with a warm, woody base underneath.

Turmeric brings its familiar warm golden tone, while activated charcoal has long been known to help draw impurities from the surface of the skin; together they make this our most visually dramatic bar as well as one of our more multi-purpose ones. Tea tree and lemongrass keep the scent bright and clean, while cedarwood settles it into something more grounded.

Cold-processed, cured for several weeks, hand-cut, and left with its full natural glycerin content, The Golden Obsidian lathers into a soft grey-gold foam, a normal and expected effect of swirling turmeric and charcoal together, not a sign of an inconsistent batch.

Each bar is handmade in small batches from the finest ingredients we can source, hand-poured, hand-cut, and individually wrapped for gift-giving straight off the shelf. Because every batch is made by hand, no two bars are ever quite identical; slight variation in color, swirl, and design is part of the craft, not a flaw.
